What's Up Wednesday (1/25/17)

It's the first What's Up Wednesday of the Year (Let's see if I can actually do every single one)!
Today I am linking up with the girls: The Larson Lingo, Mix and Match Mama & Sheaffer Told Me To to share my WUW.

1. What We're Eating This Week:

This week is gonna be easy because everyone is sick or getting over sickness and our evenings are kind of crazy.

M: Chicken Salad Sandwiches

T: Soft Tacos

W: Meatloaf

TH: Lasagna

F: Eating out or take out

2. What I'm Reminiscing About:

The day Kinsley was born... I can't believe it's been almost 6 years. This little angel made me a mama.

3. What I'm Loving:

We have been planning Kinsley's 6th birthday! How is she already turning 6???? Man, time really does fly.....

4. What We've Been Up To:

Not a whole lot.... we went to the museum, stock show with the kiddos last weekend. We also went to Bass Hall and saw Annie! We celebrated Beau's birthday with dinner at Texas de Brazil and coconut cream pie. The last couple of days, just enjoying this beautiful Texas winter (in the 70s).

5. What I'm Dreading:

Nothing comes to mind!

6. What I'm Working On:

I have decided to start planning Disney vacations again! This is something I really enjoy doing. I can do everything for you:  flights, book accommodations, fast passes, dining reservations, etc. I love doing this for families and would love to help you plan your perfect Disney trip! If you would like some more information, email me at christydyer10@gmail.com.

7. What I'm Excited About:

I am looking forward to my spa day... Beau bought me a gift card for Christmas. I have been looking at the services and I think I've decided on a facial, a body scrub and massage. There is nothing better than a massage! I haven't done the other two, so we will see. I can't wait to relax..... :D

8. What I'm Watching/Reading:

Homeland just came back on and we really enjoy this.

This Is Us: I just started watching this and love it!

Chicago Med: This is probably my favorite show.

9. What I'm Listening To:

Trolls has been playing nonstop in the car. We also listen to it a little bit at home. So fun and catchy....

10. What I'm Wearing:

Nothing new here... lately I've been living in yoga pants because we've been hanging out at home. If I get out of yoga pants, it's into jeans and a basic top.

11. What I'm Doing This Weekend:

Not a whole lot... I will be keeping my nieces while my sister and brother in law go to NYC for a couple's getaway.

12. What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month:

February is a big month in our house... my birthday--I enjoy my birthday, I know some don't but I do.  Kinsey's birthday, Valentine's Day... I love all of these.

13. What Else Is New:

I have decided to start planning Disney vacations again! I can do everything for you:  flights, book accommodations, fast passes, dining reservations, etc. I love doing this for families and would love to help you plan your perfect Disney trip! Things to do in... Fort Worth

I often get asked about things to do here in Fort Worth, Tx. People ask for new date night spots (I ask others too..haha), family outings, etc. I am going to do my very best today to give you ideas and my favorite spots in Fort Worth. I have lived here in the area my entire life. Things have changed a lot throughout the years though.

What are my favorite spots in Fort Worth?

I have to start with one of my very favorite spots to have Mexican food: Joe T. Garcia's. I love this place so much, they have indoor seating and a huge outdoor area. It is beautifully landscaped, covered in plants, flowers, trees, water features--it's so nice outside. There are heaters in the winter--I think one per table or two. At dinner time, they have two options on the menu: Fajitas or enchiladas. I like both of these, but my personal favorite is the beef fajitas. You must get margaritas--they are one of my favorites. This spot is good for date nights, large gatherings, kids are more than welcomed also. It's a great place! I must add that it is cash only, so bring cash or they have an ATM.

I recommend the chicken fajitas, the swirl margaritas, and the chimichanga. You must ask for jalapeƱo ranch to dip your chips in. If you go during happy hour, they have a car set up with free queso, nachos and some other things! One of our favorite family or date night places.

This restaurant offers brick oven pizzas, gourmet salads, entrees, sandwiches, and craft beers. Very fun, unique place to go.

This restaurant has great burgers with a wide variety of different ones, onion rings, beers.

It offers a wide variety of entrees, beers and a full bar. They also serve brunch on the weekends. Great little spot for date nights or family outings.

Looking for something sweet after dinner or just because? We really enjoy Sweet Sammies--they have ice cream and cookies. You can get one or both. You can create a cookie sandwich with your choice of cookie and ice cream. It's the best.

This is a little place with indoor seating or a few benches outside to eat on. There is also chalk and a wall for the kids to draw on. They have different flavors each day, some are very unique and different.  Our personal favorite is the chocolate chip cookie dough.

Looking for something light and refreshing--Steel City Pops! They are gourmet popsicles They have fruity popsicles, creamy and different featured flavors.

Looking for places without the kids?

This is by far one of our favorite date night places! We also go for special occasions--birthdays, anniversaries... You start with an amazing salad bar complete with all sorts of choices, soup, rice, black beans and potato au gratin. They bring around different types of meat and you can get them all or just a couple. My husband's favorite place to eat hands down.

Perfect for date night or any special occasion--it is delicious!

We like to go here on date nights either before dinner for drinks and an appetizer or after dinner for drinks. We really enjoy getting the cheese board and wines. You can get a flight, glass or bottle. We love this little spot.

Okay, so this would be super fun for a night out with friends! This is a two hour tour through downtown Fort Worth. They provide the driver and you pedal. It is BYOB.

This little gem is a fun place to listen to live music with a primary focus toward jazz.

Serving up craft beers and wine with daily special entrees.

Rooftop bar and patio with a view, sandwiches, salads, 50+ beers on tap

Looking for a good breakfast?

They offer a wide variety of breakfast entrees with generous portions! They also have a variety of juices.

This little cafe has wonderful breakfast--the biscuits are where it's at here.

Looking for a fun, family day with the kids?

There are so many fun things to do with the kiddos.......

Everyday at 11:30 and 4:00 you can see the details of a cattle drive. Kids love it! There are also fun things to do in the area: petting zoo, pony rides, shops, restaurants.

Super fun little train ride. We have been doing this for years and the kids always have a good time!

This is one of our very favorite places to go. There are three floors of fun and the Omni Theatre--a motion movie.

We love this zoo! We go quite often and always get the yearly membership card. A must do if you're visiting the area.

That concludes my list of my favorite things to do in Fort Worth. If any of my locals have anymore ideas to add, please comment! I would love to hear your favorite things to do.

If you are looking for a resource to manage your own event or find events near you, I included a link below to do so.

I hope some of my favorite places are helpful for your future date night, get together or event!

Also, an important announcement: I have decided to start planning Disney vacations again! I can do everything for you:  flights, book accommodations, fast passes, dining reservations, etc. I love doing this for families and would love to help you plan your perfect Disney trip! Life Lately

Today I thought I would share a little bit of our day to day life with you... I love being at home with my kids and I am embracing everything that comes with it. Some days are long, but the years are short. I love this time with my family.

Bryson has been using his musical table some here and there. He has shown ZERO interest in becoming mobile. haha...

Morning snuggles watching cartoons before Kinsley is off to school.

On Wednesday, we went and had lunch with Kinsley at school. We surprised her with Chick Fil A. Then, we took Bryson to get his first haircut. I normally wait until they turn one, but he really needed it.

Playing around after lunch on Snapchat. She loves doing this and I think it's pretty funny too.

And next up: Witten got a haircut.

Bryson loves when Witten joins in bath fun!

Witten has been playing with his car a lot.

Bryson loved me peeking in the door!

Snuggles with Bryson before Witten was off to school.

Lunch time! This boy loves chicken & apples right now.

Also, an important announcement: I have decided to start planning Disney vacations again! I can do everything for you, book accommodations, fast passes, dining reservations, etc. I love doing this for families and would love to help you plan your perfect Disney trip! Bryson's First Haircut

This is a short and simple post. :) Today we took Bryson to get his first haircut--we normally wait until our babies are one to do this, but Bryson needed one bad! So, we took him to Pigtails and Crewcuts. We let Witten pick his seat and he chose a police car for him. Bryson loved it! He got in, smiled and laughed a lot. Then, she put his cape on, gave him a comb to chew on and he was a happy little guy (as he usually is). She blew bubbles for him and cut his hair. He was a champ! And now for cuteness overload! :)

And then, home for lunch! Such a happy, content little guy. I love being his mom! All the heart eyes!
