Show & Tell Tuesday: Favorite Room

Today is Show & Tell Tuesday!

I am linking up with Andrea at Momfessionals

We have lived in our house for a couple of years now, I still don't have it decorated to fit my style. It's a work in progress.... but I have decided to share my organization station and my favorite part of our bedroom.

I LOVE my organization station (as I like to call it). This is the central location for coats, jackets, mittens, hats, shoes, umbrellas, backpacks, etc.

First up... My husband made me this hanger out of a wooden pallet and I painted it and we added various hooks. I love it! This is the place for backpacks, dance gear, umbrellas, jackets, etc. Underneath, I have a bench with bins- one for my daughter's shoes, my son's shoes and misc stuff like: mittens, hats, gloves, etc. They know exactly what to do with all their stuff and now there aren't shoes all in the floor. This makes getting out the door with two young kiddos much easier!

I bought an oil pan at Walmart, my husband installed it and I am so thankful for this central calendar area. I have an erasable calendar, my kid's school schedules on it, etc. This keeps me sane with all the appts, play dates, etc. I also keep my kid's folders for school in the pouch. Super handy and everything is together.

Next up, the gallery wall in my family room. I really love the way this turned out! I am going to start working on getting some cool things on the table also.

And... my favorite part of our bedroom...

I LOVE the way we did our bedroom. It is charcoal, plum, white and silver. We painted the wall behind our bed this dark gray color (Mark Twain Gray Brick). The rest of the walls are painted "Whiskers by PPG". Then, I had someone paint me this picture I had seen at Hobby Lobby (it had a teal bird, I needed a plum bird). I bought the love mirror letters and a mirrored vine. Then, I framed a picture of my husband and I on our honeymoon in Maui. I LOVE this picture. It is us on the beach at our luau kissing with the sun shining. I made a little collage above our bed with this stuff. LOVE.

Paint Color: Mark Twain Gray Brick
Love sign: Hobby Lobby
Mirrored Vine: Bed, Bath & Beyond
Bird Picture: Custom made
Bedding, pillows: Bed Bath & Beyond

Those are a few of my favorite things inside our home!

March Pin-spired

I can't believe it's March! I am ready to fire up the grill, play outside with the kiddos, go on walks, wear Spring clothes.

Happy Monday Friends! Today I am linking up with The Larson Lingo, Mix and Match Mama, and Pinterest Told Me To. We get inspired by ideas we see on Pinterest and apply it for the month. This is my first time and I didn't have all the items in my closet, so I am just showing the pins that inspired me and I will be going on a hunt for the items I am missing.

I found a variety of outfits that would be fun to wear out for girl's night, just running errands, date night with the hubby...

ONE
I love this outfit. I don't know if I love the belt, but I do love the denim and colorful maxi. Super cute!

TWO

I love this outfit with the black and white and the pop of coral! I would wear this to date night/dinner on the patio (I love eating outside when it's nice). LOVE this outfit! I think the pop of coral totally makes it a favorite for me.

THREE

This outfit is cute and I like the minty green color. Super cute!

FOUR

Right now, I am really loving the taupe and white. I love the taupe nail polish, shoes, purses... You name it and I like it. I thought this was pretty with the white.

FIVE
I think this outfit is my favorite of the ones I pinned. Again, I love the coral and black. I have never been a person to mix brown and black, I would typically wear black shoes with this but I really like this look with the brown shoes!! CUTE!

So, there you have it.. 5 outfits that "pin-spired" me today. I can't wait to get all the pieces together. Have the best week!

If you are new to my blog, thanks for stopping by and feel free to follow along! Have the best week!

Cupcake Cake Pops

I was asked to make some cupcake cake pops and I think they turned out really cute.

Ingredients
1 box cake mix plus the ingredients to make a cake per box directions
1 tub of store bought frosting
48 oz chocolate candy coating (sometimes it takes 1 1/2 bags) You can find these at Wal-Mart, Target, Hobby Lobby, Michael's)
24 oz of candy coating (color of your choice)
Sprinkles & M&Ms

Bake your cake per box directions in a 9x13 inch pan. Let cool completely.

Once the cake has been baked and cooled, crumble your baked cake in a large mixing bowl. You should not see any large chunks of cake.

Add 3/4 of the container of store bought frosting to crumbled cake.  Combine cake crumbles and frosting together. This process is easiest for me to use my hands to mix it together or the back of a large metal spoon. Note: If you use the whole tub, they will be too moist.

Form cake mix into 1 1/2-inch round balls (ping pong sized).  Place each ball on a baking sheet lined with wax paper.  Once all of your balls are formed, place baking sheet in the freezer to firm (I normally freeze them for two hours). I do cover with plastic wrap while freezing.

Place the candy coating in a deep, microwave safe bowl (I usually do 8 oz at a time). Melt according to the directions on the package. DO NOT OVERHEAT.

I formed them using these candy molds candy molds

Dip the bottom into chocolate candy coating and let dry. Insert sticks and dip again.

Once they are set and dry, hold the bottom of the ball to dip into the candy coating (color of your choice) until it touched the edges of chocolate. Turn in a circular motion and let dry. I used a drying stand.

Immediately decorate with m&m and sprinkles (before it sets).

Store in an airtight container.

Everyone loved these! They were a big hit and there wasn't a single one left. Enjoy!

March Goals

I have been working on setting goals each month since the new year and have met some of them, but still need to work harder. I figure if I blog about them, then that will hold me more accountable. ;) So, I sat down and wrote out my goals for March. I can not believe March is here!!!!

Here are my goals written out.....

1. Get more organized: There are several things I need to get rid of, donate, get ready for our community garage sale.

2. Read 2 books: I haven't always been one who likes to read other than magazines, etc. However, I have a long list of books I want to read, but never take the time to do so. I read 1 book last month and my goal is to read 2 this month. I will get my book list up in the coming days.

3. Make small changes that will result in a healthier ME: I have been trying and it's hard. I will do great using myfitnesspal, working out, drinking more water and doing pretty good, then I fall off. I am going to be really conscious of my choices and just making small changes.

4. Get kid's closets organized: My kid's closets need a major overhaul. I am going to get clothes that don't fit out, organizational baskets, etc in there.

5. Quit stressing over to dos and focus on more quality time with my loves: I have so many things going on in my head and on paper that I need to do, like many of you probably do. I need to use my time wisely and quit stressing so much over this or that and just enjoy the time I get to spend with my loves. Don't get me wrong, we do things, a lot of things, but sometimes when we are at home, just hanging out... is when I get caught up doing stuff. My kids are going to be going off to school before I know it and I don't want to waste the time I do have with them at home all day.

There you have it--my March! I hope you have a great March also!
