Weekend Wrap Up: Random

Friday night we had movie night. Beau & Kinsley went to get a movie, movie snacks and dinner, Kinsley requested Buffalo Wild Wings and I am sure this made Beau a happy man. Hehehe.... Beau showed me this when he got home. She surprised Witten with a hat.

They got home, we ate dinner and went upstairs to watch our movie. Beau and the kids made popcorn in our popcorn machine. They kids loved seeing it heat up and pop out into the bin. I made little cups of candy for them. Beau wanted the kids to see Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, so that is what we watched. The kids really enjoyed it, especially after it got to the chocolate factory. We had a fun night!

Saturday morning we woke up and the first thing Kinsley wanted to do was put together her Lego horse stables. :) So, we did that a few times while Beau and Witten were asleep. She is a girl on the go and always wants to be doing something.

Once the boys woke up, we ate breakfast and went out in the backyard. The kids played on the trampoline, sandbox, slide and had so much fun. Beau decided to mow and get all the yard work out of the way before the rain came. Witten is afraid of the mower, so Beau let him push it and help and he really enjoyed it. Kinsley went inside and changed clothes. She came out wearing a winter dress, tights and dress shoes. hahahahaha.....  She decided to help the boys mow.

After being out in the yard for hours, we decided to get cleaned up and get lunch. On the way home from lunch, Beau decided it would be fun to have a picnic and let the kids play. So, we did just that, even in the rain. I love all the spontaneous ideas Beau has. :) Buddy thought he needed to join us and Kinsley begged, so we let him.

After we ate lunch in the rain and let the kids play a bit, we decided to stop and see Barney & Fred. hahaha... We pass these longhorns every single day and the kids have named them. They always look to see if we see "Barney", "Fred" or "Gus". On this day, Barney and Fred were close to the gate, so we pulled over and let the kids get out. Kinsley was so happy that we were so close. hahaha... We stayed for a good 10 minutes and they loved seeing them.

We decided to go on a hunt for bluebonnets. :) We had a random Sunday afternoon, but it was so much fun. We have tickets to Thomas the Train next weekend and can't wait to take the kids. Witten is really going to enjoy it. Since we were in the area, we decided to see if we could see Thomas. We saw him coming from a little ways back and pulled over. Witten had taken his shoes off (go figure) hahahaha..... but we jumped out and got super close. Witten was SOOOO excited to see Thomas the Train. He was all smiles and talked about it the rest of the day. I can't wait for next weekend, when we can actually ride him.

Next stop, getting ice cream and taking it to the Founder's Plaza to watch planes. This is such a fun, family favorite of ours. Beau and I used to go there all of the time when we were dating. Now we go, but have two littles with us. :) The kids love watching the planes, spraying the fire truck over the planes with water, running up and down the grassy hill and just walking around. They always have the best time. I was in workout shorts, tank, flip flops and no makeup. I had no idea going to get lunch was going to turn into a day full of random things, but it sure was fun. We decided to go have dinner, so we made a pit stop at Old Navy in Grapevine Mills to get me some shorts and a shirt (that weren't workout attire). Of course, we had to stop and see all the exciting stuff at Rainforest Cafe. The trip to get a quick outfit was an hour long trip. :)

We went to dinner at Chuy's and went back to the airport (we had to leave early the first time because Kinsley needed a potty break). We stayed a bit and came home. While we were out on random adventures, we did find a really neat park in Grapevine for a future picnic. We can't wait to take a picnic there and let the kids play. The little park was nestled in a bunch of trees and looks so fun. The kids were out within minutes of getting in the car.

We got home, gave them a quick bath, put them to bed and they were out for the night. Beau and I planned on going to bed, but stayed up late planning our anniversary trip for next month. I can't wait! I can't believe it's already been 5 years. Time flies.

So, that was our random weekend! It was filled with a bunch of random stuff, but we sure did enjoy it! Sometimes the random, unplanned, spontaneous things are the most fun. I love doing life with my little family. :)

I hope you have the BEST week! XOXO
